What is the difference between hard and soft landscaping?

There are some distinct differences between hard and soft landscaping. Hard landscaping primarily involves the construction of hard structures such as patios, walls and fencing which can form the backbone of a garden. On the other hand, soft landscaping encompasses planting trees, shrubs, flowers and the laying of turf to add an additional layer of beauty and colour to your garden.

Is there a minimum size for a landscaping project?

In short, no. No matter the size of your landscaping project, Longstock Park Landscapes accommodates all sizes and styles of gardens. From a compact oasis to a sprawling estate, our expert team can transform your area into a beautiful and functional outdoor space.

How much would a garden design concept cost?

Longstock Park Landscapes provides a concept garden design starting at £500 for those interested in a complete garden redesign. These designs will provide you with a clear idea of the overall layout and suggested style for your garden.

I only want a small section of my garden to be changed, can you work with existing garden elements?

If you only require a small area to be changed, we will seamlessly integrate new planting or structures into your existing garden to ensure a cohesive and harmonious result that compliments your current landscape.

What are the lead times from agreeing on a project to proceeding with the work?

Lead times for landscaping work can vary depending on multiple factors such as the complexity of design, supplies required and existing workload. However, for general hard or soft landscaping projects without complex designs, the typical lead time is around 3 weeks. This will be discussed with you based on your specific requirements.

How long will the landscaping work take?

The length of time for your landscaping project can vary dependent on the specific work required and the size of the garden. General planting, border creation or pruning can take anywhere from one to four days to complete, ensuring efficient and timely completion of the project. Larger hard landscaping activities may take longer but will be discussed with you during the planning stages.

Do I need to be home while work takes place?

Once the work details and a start date have been agreed, there is no need for you to be present during the course of the landscaping project. Longstock Park Landscapes takes care of the work to ensure minimal disruption to your daily routine.
