What to plant indoors now
If you want to grow something that looks and tastes good, then try nasturtium seeds. You can add the flowers to your salads! For a great scent in your garden this summer, sow sweet pea seeds indoors early, then plant outside when it’s a little warmer in late spring. Herbs of all varieties are wonderful to have available in the kitchen, so why not sow a range of herbs in pots on the windowsill or somewhere bright and warm in the kitchen.
Other flowers, such as petunias and marigolds, can be sown indoors now and the seedlings planted out as soon as the risk of frost has passed. Marigolds are great at cheering up summer bedding, so by sowing your own now you will have plenty of plants to help add some bright colour when summer arrives.
What to plant outdoors now
Lettuce and rocket seeds can be sown early in the season as they can tolerate fairly low temperatures during germination. Young rocket leaves can be harvested and eaten within about 2-3 weeks, so rocket is great for those impatient gardeners keen to taste their homegrown crop! Or why not plant a mixed salad that you can cut and keep cutting to give you salad leaves for months to come!

To get a head start you can buy vegetable seedlings and herbs from the nursery that can go straight into your prepared vegetable plot or a pot on the patio. Starting at £1.99 each, we have lots of vegetable plants to choose from that you will be able to enjoy on your plate in the coming months.
