Looking Forward to Harvest Season

05 Sep 2020

As summer comes to an end and Harvest season approaches, we can’t wait for cooler days and long winter nights, cuddled up under a cosy blanket with our loved ones.

Much like us, the crops at Leckford Farm enjoyed sun-filled days and summer magic. But as leaves turn and fresh produce is ready to harvest, we’re just counting down the days until that first freshly baked winter apple pie.

We currently grow five varieties of apples and pears between September and October and pick them from right here, on the Leckford Farm Estate.

Our produce is sold locally in our Leckford Estate Farm Shop and select Waitrose stores
(subject to availability). Due to our commitment to quality seasonal produce, we only sell
our apples, straight from the Farm,  between September to November, when they are at their freshest.

Not only does the Leckford Farm Shop stock fresh seasonal apples and pears, we also produce over 200 hectares of winter wheat, harvesting the crop in the August sunshine to produce quality wheat grains for milling into flour.

Our Leckford Estate branded flours are available to purchase from the Farm Shop, and are a perfect match with our seasonal apples for baking the delicious Waitrose Perfect Pie, so why not try the recipe out for yourself?

When visiting the Leckford Farm Shop, take a stroll around our Longstock Park and visit the brand-new Cherry Tree café; open Mon-Sun 10am-3pm with outdoor seating beneath the trees within the grounds.

Enjoy hot and cold drinks and freshly baked goods as you take in the beautiful scenery at the Longstock Park Nursery in the crisp, autumn air.

Whether you are looking for a relaxing stroll through our Nursery, want to stroll around our Water Garden, or enjoy a delicious meal in our Farm Shop Café, we would love to have you. If you have any questions or would like to get in touch please contact us
