Pumpkin Inspired Recipes

As the long summer evenings draw to a close and we move into autumn, the season for all things Halloween begins. While warming soups and traditional pies are staples when cooking with pumpkins, why not experiment with new flavours and techniques this year using seasonal British produce?

Along with our organically grown pumpkins, we are proud to produce a wide range of fruit plants and trees at Leckford Farm, all ready for immediate planting. Designed to inspire your autumnal cooking, here are some of our favourite pumpkin-themed recipes from Waitrose.

Pumpkin and Ginger Cupcakes

Children will love making these delicious cupcakes. Top them with petrifying pumpkin faces, creepy crawlies, and cute spooks too!

Pumpkin Spiced Espresso Martini

Indulge in an evening cocktail with warm winter spices and rich coffee notes; the perfect addition to any cosy night in.

Spiced Pumpkin Butter

Creamy, sweet, and spiced perfectly with autumnal flavours, this pumpkin butter is guaranteed to impress your tastebuds. Dollop onto pancakes and crumpets or use to add a warming feel to granola and yogurt.

Typically found on the street corners of Lima, the name ‘picarón’ translates as a cheeky, mischievous person and these live up to that name! Picarones are a fun twist on an American classic, using sweet potato for a savoury tang.
