The Product
The Leckford Loaf is a traditional farmhouse style bread perfect for a whole range of uses and an excellent choice for sandwiches and toast. Available in Waitrose stores and our own farm shop in Longstock.
The Process
It begins in our fields on The Waitrose & Partners Farm where the Farming Team carefully manages the wheat crop.
- Growing: Using milling wheat varieties and employing sustainable farming practices to ensure a quality harvest.
- Milling: The grain is milled by Marriages to create the high-quality, consistent Leckford Flour.
- Baking: Baked fresh in our shops, this loaf has a deliciously crisp outer crust and a wonderfully soft texture within.

Ethics & Sustainability
The quality of the Leckford Loaf begins with the soil. The wheat used to mill our Leckford Flour is grown by the Leckford Estate Farming Team using regenerative farming principles.
This approach means we prioritise the health of our environment:
- We focus on soil health and biodiversity.
- The farming methods help capture carbon and enhance the natural ecosystem of the estate.
The loaf represents a true field-to-fork ethos, ensuring that your choice is a sustainable one.
The Team
The journey of our exceptional loaf starts right in the field, meticulously managed by the Leckford Estate Farming Team. Their dedication to cultivating the finest wheat ensures the flour meets our exacting standards. From there, the wheat and flour are skilfully perfected by our experienced millers and bakers, who craft a superior, all-round farmhouse loaf you'll love.
