The garden won Best Showcase Garden thanks to the effort and support from Partners at Longstock Park Landscapes & Nursery.
Our own backyard
The design took elements from a footpath known as The Test Way. A 44 mile walk that follows the river Test and passes through Leckford Estate along a disused railway line. Partners in the Landscaping team are passionate about putting nature and the environment at the heart of what they do and being able to do this and show
off their own backyard was a delight.
The garden used an abundance of recycled materials to form pathways, decking and seating areas. Permeable surfaces allow rainwater to soak away naturally and the planting was varied, just like The Test Way, and created an environment that would allow them to thrive. A flower meadow and insect hideaways made sure the garden
benefitted wildlife and insects too.
Show gardens are often aspirational, however this show garden was also an inspiration for us all.
